The Fronius Solar API is a means for third parties to obtain data from various Fronius devices (inverters, SensorCards, StringControls) in a defined format through a central facility which acts as a proxy (e.g. Fronius Datalogger Web or Fronius Solar.web).

Device preparation
Currently, the only way to interact with this API is by making a HTTP request to a specific CGI. The URLs for the particular requests and the devices supporting them are listed at the beginning of each request description. It is advised either to use the Fronius Symo with a fixed IP address, or by locking/reserving the current IP address of the unit on the ISP router if available.
Configuration
Download the example from our website and import it into your configuration. Step by step instructions on how to import are available in our instructional video.
With this example, users can integrate Fronius Symo models which are ethernet based, with direct TCP connection. Change the IP address in the main HTTP node with your unit's IP address. The information is pulled from the Symo every 10s. If the information is too frequent or you need more information, change the Cyclical Send delay value. A timestamp is available, to give the user feedback about the last update. Users can adapt the visualization template, but the current one allows to view all the main information about the solar panel production, local consumption, grid status, and it's productivity. A graph is available to feed the solar production values.
